The tech giant promotes transparent development in business artificial intelligence

At the VentureBeat conference, IBM's Cox showcased a compelling case for collaborative development in business generative AI. Cox, VP of artificial intelligence systems and head at the joint MIT and IBM artificial intelligence laboratory, underscored the crucial nature of collaboration in technological advancement, particularly in the current machine learning environment.
David emphasized the multifaceted essence of accessibility in machine learning, questioning the simplistic perception of the idea. He noted the growing ecosystem of open models from various sources, including tech giants, research centers, and governments.
Nevertheless, he voiced worries about the nature of openness in many AI language systems, pointing out that certain models provide little more than a "bag of numbers" devoid of openness in their development processes.
